for more power you need to get more fuel crammed into the cylinder.

Two immediate areas of attention then are the intake and the exhaust.

Folks here seem to swear by changing over to an aftermarket aircleaner to allow more air/fuel mixture into the cylinder. Check for references on types modesl etc - there are even some references to how to install a different filter.

Second area is exhaust - and the numbers of comments about Supertraps and Jardine mufflers is a sub forum in itself.

Guess the third "more power" issue could relate to reducing weight - loosing the stock muffler I suspect would make a big weight difference and those 32 handsome ponies the engine produces would be more efficient at moving on down the road.

As for simple tricks - changing timing or carb jets - well have fun - but I rather suspect you will not see enough of a change to make the effort worth while.
